Meet Gina LaRose, LPC-S, LMFT
Online therapist in Louisiana
Specializing in Anxiety, Burnout, and Relationships
I want to guide you along the path to prioritizing yourself and finding the harmony you seek.
Therapy with me is about understanding your unique needs and guiding you in incorporating meaningful changes that help you find the way back to your authentic self.
You're here because you’re ready for change.
You're tired of feeling like your emotions are getting the best of you, like your former ways of coping just aren’t working and you aren’t feeling like yourself anymore. You know something needs to change, but it’s hard to even fathom how to make changes when you’re so busy trying to keep all of the plates of life spinning, always feeling one moment away from having them all come crashing down to the ground.
Being so used to taking care of everyone else, staying on top of things, and having to hold it all together, it’s no wonder you set high expectations for yourself. However, with high expectations often come self-criticism, lack of self-compassion, impossible standards, and fear of failure. You’re feeling disappointed time and again, and the shame spirals that follow leave you shut down and frustrated. You’ve come to realize this just isn’t working and you need help getting out of this vicious cycle.
You’re in the right spot.
How I work
At the core of my approach to therapy is a belief that you already have the tools within you to change your life!
My therapeutic style is rooted in collaboration. I believe in a client-centered process where my role is not to dictate what you should do, as you are the expert in your own life. Instead, my aim is to engage in deep, attentive listening and assist you in identifying any overlooked or unmet needs. Together, we can pinpoint specific goals and create a personalized roadmap to help you achieve those goals in a manner that aligns with your unique life circumstances.
I utilize an eclectic approach that draws from various modalities, such as person-centered therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral therapy, and family systems theory. Clients often describe me as warm, approachable, and authentic—I’m the same person in session that I am outside of it. I firmly believe that establishing a genuine connection is the cornerstone of a successful therapeutic relationship, and I truly appreciate each of my clients for who they are. My aim is to guide you towards your goals with that same self-acceptance, beginning with embracing your authentic nature through cultivating self-compassion and kindness, essential elements to long lasting change.
What you can expect from me
Overall, therapy with me is a place where you can show up authentically. My goal is to create a safe space where you can feel seen, heard, and truly understood. Even if I may not have personally experienced each of your specific challenges, I am here to assist you in transcending them. My approach is rooted in being nonjudgmental and affirming, offering comfort, compassion, and unwavering support, even when it feels scarce elsewhere.
Get the support that’s right for you.

A trauma-filled decade leaves behind depressing statistics in Plaquemines Parish
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S) and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with 15 years in the mental health field. With a Bachelors degree in Psychology and a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Counseling, my academic career laid a foundation for me to have a wide variety of experience in assessing and treating mental health disorders in community and private settings.
In 2014, I opened my first therapy practice, seeing individuals and couples. I have served as President to the Board of Directors of the Hope Community Health Center (Hope Clinic), an affiliate of the New Orleans Family Justice Center (NOFJC), that provides medical and behavioral health services, as well as free forensic exams to sexual assault survivors. Throughout all of my professional accomplishments, my biggest successes have been bearing witness to the growth and development of my clients who have allowed me to be a part of their healing journeys.
